TheCornwall Healthy Living Centre (CHLC) represents a merger of Kerrier
Healthy Living Centre (KHLC) and Penwith Healthy Living Network (PHLN)
Both the KHLC and the PHLN were Lottery funded organisations working to reduce
health inequalities across West Cornwall and both were highly successful in reaching the most vulnerable
members of society.
The CHLC enables the experience and expertise built up over the past three
years to be developed and extended into new services. The four schemes within the CHLC compliment each
other well and combine to form a comprehensive support package and promotional forum for community health
and well-being projects.

Aims of CHLC
CHLC aims to provide a vehicle for health professionals, voluntary and community sector
organisations and individuals to work together to improve health and well-being and reduce health inequality across Cornwall.
Objectives of CHLC
To provide a proactive and holistic approach to tackling underlying health problems by linking health
professional, health based organisations and individuals through the following schemes:
- GP Recommendation Scheme
- Central Information and Support Scheme
- Volunteer Recruitment Scheme
- Well-being Activities
Roles of the CHLC Strategic Management Group Members
- To provide strategic guidance to the CHLC
- To provide support and advice to the CHLC project staff
- To share their expertise in order to support the development of CHLC
- To support and develop networks in order to promote and sustain the CHLC
