WCHLC Help
Frequently Asked Questions
We know a health and wellbeing project exists but it is not on your database!
We only add projects to our database if they serve West Cornwall and we have received a questionnaire signed by the project manager of the organisation concerned, or if we received an on-line form. The project is then assessed for suitability, added to the database and uploaded to the website. If you wish to advise us of a project which you think we should have on our database, please let us know via the info phone line 01209 614448 or by email. We will then contact the organisation concerned and ask them if they are interested in filling in a questionnaire.
Our project, or a project we know about, appears in the black (unsigned) section of your database. How do we get this project into the main section?
Entries in black are included because we think they are useful to our website browsers. However, because we have not received a signed questionnaire from the organisations' project managers, we cannot be sure the information is accurate. All of these projects have been contacted by WCHLC to invite them to join the main database, but for various reasons they have not reached the main database entry stage - some are cautious about joining and are unsure whether it will cost them (it does not), others are going through the 'Add a Project' process but have not reached the uploading stage. Some of the black entries are National organisations which are not suitable for the 'local' database, but the information is considered to be useful. If you wish to tell us about your project, please let us know via the info phone line 01209 614448 or by email advising us of your up-to-date address and the Project Manager's name. We will then send you a questionnaire. Alternatively, if you prefer to fill in forms on-line, go to one of the 'Add a Project' hyperlinks throughout this website. If you wish to advise us of a project other than your own, do not hesitate to contact WCHLC via the info phone line 01209 614448 or via email and we will contact the organisation concerned and ask them if they are interested in filling in a questionnaire.
We do not appear to be receiving the updated version of the website!
Some computers or in-house server systems cache old versions of the WCHLC website. If 'refresh' does not correct this, try Control F5 to refresh the cache. You may also have to do this for the alternative routes to www.wchlc.org.uk - that is, www.wchlc.co.uk and www.wchlc.com . We update our website almost every day, so if you are in any doubt about whether your in-house system is caching the website, it may pay to do this on a regular basis.
We filled in an 'Add a Project' form on-line process but the new project has not appeared on the database yet!
Filling in the online form merely sends an email to the WCHLC Project Manager providing details of your project. These projects are then assessed for suitability, edited to fit the website format, added to the WCHLC database, then uploaded to the website server. Only when all this is complete will the project appear on the website. You may need to refresh your cache (see above). Contact us on 01209 614448, or via email, if you are concerned.
We filled in an 'Update a Project' form on-line process but the new entries have not appeared on the database yet!
Filling in the online form merely sends an email to the WCHLC Project Manager providing details of your project changes. These project changes are then amended on the WCHLC database, then uploaded to the website server. Only when all this is complete will the project appear on the website. You may need to refresh your cache (see above). Contact us on 01209 614448, or via email, if you are concerned.
Do we get an opportunity to see our entry after it has been edited by WCHLC to fit the website/database?
You will get an opportunity to see the new entry after it has been edited. You will receive a printout of the final version by post together with a 'WCHLC Quality Check List' shortly after the entry has been uploaded. Also, once your project is on-line, you can go to the entry within the website and advise us of any changes via the on-line 'Update a Project' form or by email or phone. The quickest way into your project is via the A to Z hyperlink, followed by the A to Z of health and wellbeing organisations hyperlink. Contact us on 01209 614448, or via email, if you are concerned.
We filled in a new project questionnaire and posted it off to WCHLC but the new project has not appeared on the database yet!
All project questionnaires are assessed for suitability, edited to fit the website format, added to the WCHLC database, then uploaded to the website server. Only when all this is complete will the project appear on the website. You may need to refresh your cache (see above). Contact us on 01209 614448, or via email, if you are concerned.
You have sent us a Quality Check List and we do not have all of the quality assurance documentation in place. Should we be concerned about this?
Every project is different. The example we use is as follows: While an outward bound activity centre might require every type of quality procedure from Health and Safety through to Child Protection, Police CRB Checks, Transportation and Specialist Staff Training, a small group running reminiscence activities for older people may find that most of what they need is already covered by the community centre they meet in. If you have any concerns, simply fill in the form as best you can and ask for our advice. Soon we hope to have a Members' Centre on the website, whereby we can offer on-line advice and examples.
